Steer is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rubi Sarang as a Principal Consultant in the Rail Advisory team.
Rubi brings over five years of experience at HS2 Ltd., where she held several roles across three different teams. Rubi began her career at HS2 in 2017, managing a cross-functional team to produce the Operational Cost Baseline for the Phase 1 Outline Business Case. She has also led business planning for the end state operating structure of HS2 and supported the development of the Infrastructure Manager.
In addition, Rubi managed the mobilisation of the West Coast Partnership Development contractor as Shadow Operator.
Most recently, Rubi was responsible for managing the Rolling Stock contract for the 54 high-speed trains to be built for Phase 1, including leading the client readiness and mobilisation for the contract, managing the Concept Design Phase, and setting up the Collaborative Design Process which aimed to produce a user-focused design for the interior aspects of the train.
Rubi has extensive experience working with Train Operators, Train Manufacturers & Maintainers, Network Rail, and the Department for Transport.
Rubi is passionate about diversity and inclusion, having previously chaired HS2's Race Network. She is also a STEM Ambassador, committed to improving social mobility and access to opportunities.
