Our people

Stephen is a leader and decision maker, currently the UK’s Managing Director, after taking a number of leadership roles in Steer. He has over 30 years’ work experience of which over 25 years is in consultancy focussed on the transport, and in particular aviation and rail industries.

Stephen joined Steer from PricewaterhouseCoopers. He started his career at the Civil Aviation Authority, a part of the UK’s economic regulatory team.

Katerina has worked for more than 20 years as a transport consultant, on a wide variety of projects for the public and private sectors, many of which have been under her successful management. She is currently the infrastructure market leader for Chile, a market in which she has extensive experience.

The new Silk Route, or “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), is a major policy initiative developed by China to improve connectivity between Asia and Europe. The BRI refers to six major land corridors across the Eurasian continent and a network of maritime trade routes connecting Asia with Africa and Europe. However, no official or generally accepted definition of the BRI exists.

Steer is leading a team that is assisting Boston Harbor Now in planning an expansion of the water transportation system that best meets the needs of the region’s residents and visitors at efficient levels of service and costs.

Steer led a multi-disciplinary team to develop both guidelines, which were developed with support from various departments within TransLink and stakeholders from the region’s 22 cities.

Steer, working on a team led by KPFF Consulting Engineers, was retained by the NYCDOT to perform a detailed ridership analysis of adding a Midtown service to the Staten Island Ferry.

Steer was tasked with developing a demand model of ferry ridership to Lummi Island, including pedestrians, vehicles and commercial vehicles to establish projections through 2040.

Nandini has 10 years of experience providing demand and revenue advice on infrastructure investment projects across the world. She is an APM-qualified project manager with expertise in multi-disciplinary transaction advisory projects as well as specialist behavioural research, growth modelling and forecasting.

Jim is the founder of Steer and was the CEO for the first 25 years. Jim is a chartered civil engineer and has extensive experience in transport strategy and planning.
