The Department of Transport (DfT) commissioned Steer to provide evidence for the impact of investment in rail infrastructure on the economy.

Steer is currently supporting Transport for Wales (TfW) in the procurement of an Operator and Development Partner (ODP) to manage the Wales and Borders and South Wales Metro rail services under a 15-year contract.

Following on from the Vision for Stations, which Steer developed for the Rail Delivery Group, this study was commissioned to explore possible approaches to creating a stations dashboard and classification system which could be used across the industry and beyond with the overall objective of creating a common language and resources.

For TxDOT and as part of larger team, Steer has been responsible for the ridership and revenue forecasting task for a Tier 1 Environmental Impact Study (EIS) of the proposed Oklahoma City to South Texas High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) corridor.

Steer developed ticket sales and revenue forecasting models for Metro North Rail Road (MNR). 

Steer was requested by Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to develop a series of ticket sales and ridership forecasting models and forecasts.

The High Desert Corridor Joint Powers Authority (HDC JPA) commissioned Steer to produce Investment Grade Ridership & Revenue Forecasts for HSR rail services using the proposed HDC line.

Steer developed for TxDOT an inter-urban HSR ridership forecasting model for the Dallas-Fort Worth to Houston corridor.
