Julio is a Principal Consultant at Steer's office in Santiago, Chile. He has a strong academic background, holding a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering with a Diploma in Transport and Logistics, as well as a Master’s in Engineering Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He further complemented his education with a Diploma in Railway Engineering from Universidad Tecnológica de Delft.

With over 8 years of experience in the transport sector, Julio Mora has played key roles in significant projects. Before his current position, he served as a Project Engineer in the Logistics Development Program at Chile's Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. In this role, he led the execution of projects aimed at modernizing the road transport sector, promoting efficiency through initiatives such as the incorporation of high-productivity vehicles and the management of foreign trade trucks at ports.

Later, he worked as a Project Management Engineer and Head of Planning and Studies in the Planning and Management Control Department at the State Railways Company of Chile. In this role, he was responsible for formulating railway projects, developing strategic transport modeling analyses, conducting multimodal transport demand studies, and performing socio-economic evaluations of transport projects, including the analysis of intermodality with other modes of transport. Through these roles, he has contributed to defining Chile's major railway transport initiatives in recent years.

Since joining Steer, he has worked on projects related to airport process simulation, public transport diagnostics, financial evaluation of public transport, passenger and freight transport demand analysis, and railway capacity analysis.

Julio’s professional career is characterized by his focus on transport planning, multimodal strategic transport modeling, transport project formulation and economic evaluation, railway transport project development, process and supply chain simulation, vehicle route optimization models, and demand analysis. His knowledge and experience are valuable assets in the field of transport and logistics in Chile.
