I have always been interested in all things transport and urbanism and having the opportunity to gain wider experience in both of these sectors was one of the reasons why I wanted to work at Steer.
I am part of the Infrastructure team where I work on a range of services such as behavioural research, choice modelling, demand and revenue forecasting and network modelling. Such breadth of topics has equipped me with the skills to conduct statistically and analytically heavy work as well as the ability to communicate key ideas succinctly to different audiences, which I have enjoyed immensely.
Another key aspect of my experience at Steer is the variety of geographies I have been exposed to. So far I have worked on projects located in the UK, France, Spain, USA, Mexico, Kenya and India.
My knowledge of Spanish and French has helped me greatly in taking on more responsibility on projects where speaking these languages is valuable to the team and to the client. Steer has been great at encouraging my enthusiasm for learning new languages and I am now learning Portuguese with a tutor in the office at lunchtime. One of the most rewarding aspects of being multilingual is that I have developed strong links with my colleagues in the Mexico, Bogota and Delhi teams, as well as my colleagues in London.
