cameron_headshotSteer is delighted to welcome Cameron Thick as the Commercial Operations Director for the United Kingdom. A Chartered Accountant with CIMA certification, Cameron enriches our team with nearly a decade of expertise in rail infrastructure. His extensive background encompasses a variety of financial and operational roles, critically supporting Maintenance, Operations, Renewals, and Commercial Property sectors.

Cameron's recent role as Head of Financial Control and Analysis in the Southern Region at Network Rail saw him as a key member of the functional executive leadership team. There, he was instrumental in managing the financial settlement to deliver the maintenance, operations, and infrastructure renewal strategy within the Sussex route. His strategic acumen was further demonstrated through leading on the formulation of a comprehensive business plan, successfully securing £1 billion in funding for the next five-year control period.

Furthermore, Cameron's contributions within the Commercial Property function played a significant role in recuperating revenue and reducing overheads to mitigate against the funding shortfalls cause by post-pandemic market changes.

Cameron said:

"I am thrilled to be joining Steer and am eager to contribute to the company's ongoing success. I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive business growth, financial robustness, and profitability, building on Steer's esteemed reputation."

Stephen Wainwright said:

"We are excited to have Cameron join our leadership team as the Commercial Operations Director in the UK. Cameron's impressive track record in rail infrastructure and his strategic financial expertise make him a valuable addition to Steer. His vision for operational excellence and growth aligns perfectly with our objectives. I am confident that Cameron will play a crucial role in steering our operations towards even greater success and sustainability."
