Steer report analyses the implementation of electric buses in Santiago, Chile

Its’ geography and variety of climatic zones makes Chile significantly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

By Steer

Its’ geography and variety of climatic zones makes Chile significantly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. However, several mitigation measures have been adopted, such as the use of cleaner fuels and the recent addition of electric buses (e-buses) into Santiago’s public transport system.

Steer has produced a report with the World Bank analysing the implementation and management of e-buses into the city’s fleets.

With the public transport system in Santiago transitioning to green technology, this study explores the contribution of e-buses to sustainable mobility along with the methods used to measure the reduced emissions.  The report highlights the importance of these new technologies in public transport standards thus complying with the climate change commitments.
