After riding the Regional Transportation District's free electric bus to Denver Union Station, I took the A line to the airport for free!
Firstly, I do love taking transit from an airport to a downtown, that's not all that common in North America. Secondly, chapeau to RTD for linking free transit to a wider emissions reduction goal and the communications plan behind it.
We often recommend pilots to clients who are interested in trying new things but recognize the significant investment a full roll out could be. I'm looking forward to understanding the impact of the initiative on emissions and ridership against a normal August baseline.
This collaborative, statewide initiative, made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 22-180, in partnership with the Colorado Energy Office, is designed to reduce ground-level ozone by increasing the use of public transit.
