Supporting the sale of the American Roads, LLC, toll assets

American Roads, LLC, the company that operates the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel and four toll bridge assets in Alabama, was looking to be sold by its corporate parent, Syncora.

How we helped

Steer provided traffic and revenue support during the process including a toll and revenue study, forecasts, and support during the sale including management presentations to potential buyers and oral/written questions and answers.

Our approach was to use a blend of econometric and network models to examine the diverse in-scope markets for each asset (international, beach, commuting, etc.).

Some specialized analyses were also utilized to look at the impact from new competing facilities, new major developments and impacts from operational improvements.

Successes and outcomes

We provided several useful analyses that would have been helpful to buyers in understanding the business(es) and potential future scenarios.

Syncora sold its interest in American Roads LLC for $220 million to DIF Infra 5 US LLC.
