Get Living London

Amberside helping to power regional regeneration project Lewisham Gateway

Lewisham Gateway is one of the largest regeneration schemes in the Southeast England. Once complete, the scheme will be operated by Get Living and provide over 1,000 new homes, 25,000 sq ft of retail space, 15,000 sq ft of restaurant and socialising space, further 10,000 sq ft of offices and the borough’s first major multiplex cinema. Completion of the final phase of Lewisham Gateway is anticipated at the end of 2023.

Amberside Advisors, a Steer company, were appointed to provide a due diligence review for Lewisham Gateway, resulting in an energy supplier company (ESCO) procurement exercise and transaction support. The chosen ESCO was then to operate and maintain the plant to generate, distribute and supply heat (and electricity if applicable) to relevant supply points, providing energy to the whole estate and its residents.

As part of this project Amberside have:

  • Produced tender documents describing the opportunity and bid requirements, compliant with any relevant Get Living processes.
  • Conducted soft market testing with potential ESCO companies to judge level of interest and sculpt the tender and terms of engagement.
  • Produced commercial Heads of Terms for bidders to accept and price accordingly as part of bid.
  • Appraised bids by using a solid set of scoring criteria, conducted dialogue sessions with Get Living, and provided bidder selection recommendations.

Amberside Advisors are currently supporting Get Living with post-preferred bidder stage, with negotiation of full contracts (energy services and supply agreements) and providing commercial instructions to lawyers for drafting. Once this phase is complete, Amberside will hand over to the selected bidder and support them in commencing their operation.

To find out more about this project or how Amberside can support ESCO procurement process from initial review all the way to the financial close of the transaction, please contact Mark Easter, Amberside Head of Commercial Advisory.
