Merseytravel had been a long-term user of our Urban Dynamic Model (UDM), having first used it in 2006 to support the development of their Local Transport Plan.
By 2013 the model needed updating and so Merseytravel commissioned Steer to build a new version.
We built a new lighter version of the original UDM, called UDM-Lite. This was then calibrated and a series of validation tests run, all fully documented.
The model was handed over to Merseytravel in 2016 and their staff trained on its use. Merseytravel now regularly uses UDM-Lite to test new transport proposals in the City Region. Steer continue to provide support and periodic model upgrades.
