As part of Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Special Districts Program, Greenway Plaza was identified as an area of Houston where there are significant opportunities to replace vehicle trips with pedestrian and bicycle travel. Our design team delivered the West Yorkshire Combined Authority's City Connect consultation website in 2014 including an interactive consultation map that enabled visitors to 'pin' locations and add location specific comments or suggestions on cycling issues or improvements that they'd like to see implemented in the future.

Projects

Over recent years, Steer has been using web technology to digitize the process of collecting public outreach information. In many of the projects we work on, we need to collect 'existing conditions' data, normally in the field. This was the case with the Culver City Transit Oriented Development Visioning project we worked on with leading architects, Johnson Fain. In order to work out what the situation on the ground was with regard to mobility, in a cost effective and meaningful fashion, and then engage residents and business in conversations about their vision, we decided to create a new platform.

Steer has been working with the City of Bologna since 2014 in helping the city council develop its first city wide wayfinding strategy. The strategy provides a framework to deliver a signage and information system for pedestrians and cyclists.
