The new Silk Route, or “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), is a major policy initiative developed by China to improve connectivity between Asia and Europe. The BRI refers to six major land corridors across the Eurasian continent and a network of maritime trade routes connecting Asia with Africa and Europe. However, no official or generally accepted definition of the BRI exists.

In order to improve the public transport offer for the 21 million people living in São Paulo metropolitan region, the state government formed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) that will build, operate and maintain Line 6 of the city’s underground network. When completed, the line will be a 16km long, high capacity metro with 15 new stations.

Under a Passenger Rail Program Management contract led by WSP for Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Steer has been producing passenger rail ridership and revenue forecasts on the Chicago to St. Louis corridor for the Tier 1 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document that IDOT submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for passenger rail service improvements in the corridor.

Our people

Clémence has over 20 years of experience and is an expert in aviation economics, policy assessment, economic regulation and competition policy. 

An aeronautics ingénieur from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse with a Masters course in Transport economics from UC Berkeley. She started her career at IATA, where she worked for the Chief Economist, before joining aviation consultancy Airclaims. She joined Steer's aviation team in 2006.

Following an incident on an international high-speed train in August 2015, in which four passengers were injured, the European Commission was tasked with examining the impact of initiatives for improving rail transport security.
