Martin is an Associate in Steer’s Development Planning and Design Division and a highly experienced Project Manager and Project Director. With over 20 years of experience, he specialises in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams on transport and development planning projects, advising public and private sector clients across residential, commercial, retail, leisure, and logistics sectors.

Our people

Lucia played a key role in establishing Steer’s Italian office in 1999 and has since been instrumental in its growth. She provides strategic advice on transport system investments, specialising in the evaluation and analysis of private finance initiatives for roads and public transport schemes.

Projects

Scottish Enterprise commissioned MDS Transmodal (MDST) to undertake a freight flow study of the port of Grangemouth in Scotland. This study looked at challenges and opportunities for development of the port and surrounding area.

London Bridge is one of central London’s busiest areas and is experiencing unprecedented economic growth. The excellent existing transport infrastructure, £6bn improvement scheme at London Bridge rail station, and access to the Thames has placed London Bridge at the forefront of future economic and residential growth.

The new Silk Route, or “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), is a major policy initiative developed by China to improve connectivity between Asia and Europe. The BRI refers to six major land corridors across the Eurasian continent and a network of maritime trade routes connecting Asia with Africa and Europe. However, no official or generally accepted definition of the BRI exists.

Seven European cities (Bologna, Budapest, Poznan, Brescia, Stuttgart, Maribor and Rijeka) received European funding within the SULPITER Central Europe project to develop sustainable urban logistics plans.

This study is part of the project "Support for the Development of Integrated Logistics in Brazil", a partnership between the Planning and Logistics Company (EPL) and the Ministry of United Kingdom (FCO), through the UK Embassy in Brazil. The objective central of this project is to support EPL in the development and improvement of its model of integrated multimodal transport planning, which will serve as the basis for the development of its Logistic Development Plan​​​​​.

Islington Council held a long-term ambition to reconnect Archway town centre by removing the gyratory to unlock urban realm and regeneration potential through improved access and conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.

Our people

María Alejandra is a civil engineer with a solid track record in the transport sector, specialising in the planning and evaluation of key infrastructure. Since joining Steer in 2011, after completing her master's degree at the Universidad de los Andes, she led the Infrastructure team for Colombia until September 2024, when she became the Head of the Bogota Office.
