Alex has over 25 years of experience in demand forecasting, choice modelling, statistical analysis, and programming. He has applied these skills to a broad range of projects in the transport and telecommunications sectors.
Alex has specific experience in demand forecasting using choice models estimated with stated preference and / or revealed preference data. He has developed several custom-built demand-forecasting models, including fare strategy models for Metrolinx and TransLink in Canada, and the original version of the Rail Industry Forecasting Framework (RIFF) in the UK. Alex led a choice modelling project for the UK Department of Trade and Industry that informed the planning of the switchover to digital terrestrial television in the UK.
