Philip Rust joins Steer Davies Gleave as a Director

Steer Davies Gleave is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Rust. He joins as a Director based in our London Planning team. Philip joins from CH2M where he was the Development Planning Leader for London and the South of England.

He has managed many mixed use regeneration schemes within the public and private sectors managing masterplan development and implementation of area wide regeneration projects, which have incorporated new rail and bus stations. He has a wealth of experience in the development of transport accessibility strategies and the design of new highway infrastructure.

Philip’s recent projects include developing the transport assessment strategy for Crossrail 2, working with Manchester Airport Group in developing the surface access strategy for Stansted Airport and working with major UK housebuilders. He has led major mixed use regeneration projects in Enfield and West Hendon, that will deliver a combined total of 8,000 homes; successfully working with local and strategic transport authorities, rail operators and bus service coordinators to help create sustainable communities.

With over 33 years of experience in transport and development planning, he has also provided evidence at thirty public inquiries appearing as an expert witness at Public Inquiries, the Lands Tribunal, at the High Court, Examinations in Public and in front of Commons Committee in the UK and at formal hearings in Ireland.

Steer Davies Gleave has an enviable portfolio of development planning projects in London and the South East most notably the development of the Canary Wharf Estates and the Battersea Power Station. Phil joins the firm to develop and widen the portfolio of private sector development clients.
