Semana Magazine, a well-known national magazine in Colombia, has featured Steer Davies Gleave as ‘transport gurus’. The magazine published a special edition focusing on the UK and its relationship with Colombia in terms of history and commerce. The publication also wanted to showcase a selection of key British companies currently operating in Colombia, and chose to feature Steer Davies Gleave. We have had a strong presence and involvement in the country since 1999, when we opened our office in Bogota, to be closer to the local market. This is our second biggest office after our headquarters in London.
The article, in which Steer Davies Gleave is commended as “transport gurus”, includes an interview with our regional LATAM director, German Lleras who provides an insight into the nature of our work, the part this plays in societal wellbeing, as well as a snapshot of company’s projects in Colombia.
In this interview German highlights our participation in Transmilenio, considered one of the most important transport systems in Colombia, and our contribution to the technical structuring of highways, Like Ruta del Sol. He also points out the recent transport Plan in Monteria, where Steer Davies Gleave suggested planting trees along the roads to encourage locals to cycle and walk more.
