Steer ranks as number one technical advisor for fifth consecutive year

After a bumper year for Steer and at a huge time for the transport sector all around the world, Steer has been ranked #1 by the internationally respected monitoring agency Infralogic for the fifth year in a row.

Infralogic’s 2022 Rankings and Trends report showed that the 26 deals Steer worked on have seen us offering technical advice on some of the largest global transactions in airports, roads, rolling stock and new technology, mainly EV infrastructure.

It is our fifth consecutive year in the top spot, having been ranked #1 for deals since 2017. During this period, Steer was advisor on 130 transactions securing just over USD 152.5bn investment in transport infrastructure.

Steer’s #1 ranking by value in all sectors was accompanied by a #4 ranking by deal count; all achieved thanks to our hardworking teams of experts operating across 26 offices around the world.

The report showed that last year infrastructure and energy markets continued to grow despite continued shocks to the global economy amid a political climate which is foregrounding investment and decarbonisation.

Transport has been the most active sector worldwide since 2018, and last year's deal volume outpaced 2021, with more than USD 1.07tn invested in project finance and M&A transactions. Overall, transport sector deals rose to USD 265bn in value last year.

Steer continues to work closely with transport infrastructure developers, sponsors, financial institutions and buyers in Europe, North America, Latin America and India. Together we relish unpicking the complexity of the opportunity to support our clients in making their decisions. With our colleagues at recently acquired Amberside Advisors Ltd, we are already seeing new opportunities to strengthen the investment opportunities we can support with.

We’re looking forward to further aiding our clients in 2023 as we continue to provide powerful answers to the transport sector's most complex questions.
