Steer Economic Development was commissioned by Wigan Borough Council to develop the evidence base and strategic framework for a refreshed Skills and Employment Strategy, and then produce a clear and cohesive Action Plan.

Steer was commissioned by Waltham Forest Council to develop designs from feasibility through to detailed design to transform the ‘Walthamstow gyratory’, the Selborne Road and Hoe Street junction and the area around Walthamstow Central Station and Bus Station.

Our team developed an overarching plan based on the vision to provide a coherent narrative for the proposed projects in West Ealing, and ultimately, to knit together the neighbourhood, providing safe, green and attractive walking and cycling routes within the area, with public realm and place-making interventions to contribute to an enhanced local identity.

Mississauga has steadily grown over the last 40 years to become a regional economic centre. In the future, the City will use its BRT and LRT corridors to help spur targeted intensification. The City’s first transportation master plan will guide the development of the transportation system over the next 25 years, as the city pivots away from auto-dominated development and travel patterns.

Steer was commissioned to undertake the 2018 study to bring a new perspective to the transportation studies and provide a fresh outlook on survey methodologies and analysis techniques, and to best highlight challenges and opportunities at the University for the present and future needs to ensure access for all.

The City of West Hollywood in California has recently developed the WeHo Smart City Strategic Plan to comprehensively integrate data and new technology into the city to enhance the urban experience.

Steer supported Southwark Council with their successful bid to create a LEN around Walworth Road, near the Elephant & Castle area in South London, bringing £1m of funding to the area.

Steer has led the provision of demand forecasting, operational and business case advice to the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) for the development of Edinburgh Tram since 2005.

Steer is working with Oregon Metro on Phase I of a regional TDM Inventory, to help the agency better understand existing TDM throughout the region.
